Backlog Grooming/Refinement

In Scrum, inspection and adaptation occur in loops, and each loop is enclosed in a defined period called a Sprint.

At the beginning of the Sprint, an objective is set, which is known as the Sprint Goal. At the end of the sprint, a new iteration of the working product is delivered, this is known as the Product Increment.

A Sprint consists of these four events/ceremonies/meetings:

  1. Sprint Planning: This involves planning the work to be performed in the Sprint
  2. Daily Standup: This is used to track daily progress
  3. Sprint Review: This is to share information and get feedback on what has been done during the sprint
  4. Sprint Retrospective: This involves inspecting what was done during the sprint and discussing improvements for the next sprint.

Sprints are fixed length events of one month or less to create consistency. A new Sprint starts immediately after the conclusion of the previous Sprint.
